Background

History

The research group has expertise with a proven record of both research and industry consultancies in several key environmental, agro-industrial and remediation areas, including:

  • Organic and hazardous wastes degradation in the presence of catalyst

  • Biological and eco-friendly remediation / rehabilitation of landfills

  • Biological treatment of landfill leachate

  • Development of microbiological alternatives to reduce greenhouse gas emissions in landfills

  • Utilisation of landfill leachate in agro-irrigation

  • Value addition and nutrient recycling of agro-industrial market, organic and municipal solid waste
